toying with an idea

ok bare with me, and please save the redicule till later

basically 2 12" type r's DVC 4 ohm(300 rms) (i tried 400 rms on each one and it took it like a champ)

1 MTX 15" DVC 4 ohm (500 rms)

1 MTX 15" SVC 4 ohm (500 rms)

so the alpines are in a sperate box, and each 15 has its own box, for now...i'll explore box's later

but im wireing the alpine box in parallel yeilding 1 ohm, and the Dvc in parllel giving 2 ohm

then i have all 3 boxs wired in parllel to the amp

sooo 1+1/2+1/4 = 1.75 inverse = 0.57 ohms total

so im thinking getting a 1200 watt elemental (they can drop below 1 ohm)

which will give me more the enough head to power everything

heres a picture:

so is my math correct and will this work

if it will i got a nother kick *** idea for spl and sq purposes...i bet you guys can't wait

how about scrapping the idea and running 4 identical drivers..it will sound BETTER and PLAY LOUDER! without the cancellation of different subs in different boxes... besides unequal cone movement will cancel a good portion of sound that you are trying to reproduce... and the amp will be happier also

haha cause these i have and i still think i can get loud (hopin for 140) with this setup, and im sure me and some physics can gear it for no cancelation

WOW!!!! this is not going to work. Even though you have an idea for a amp to run all this at whatever ohm, the drivers will not see equal power due to the different resistances all over the place. Physics or no physics your going to fry something big time. When the power hits the split it will follow the path of least resistance and put a whole pile of power to that box. This is not a good idea. Please be sure to have a fire extingusher on hand if you decide to try it.

Now if you want try doing this it would be better to:

Wire each Type R seperatly into parallel to two ohms each.
Wire your MTX DVC into parallel to two ohms.
Parallel All three drivers to give you .67 ohms.

or

Wire each Type R seperatly into series to 8 ohms each.
Wire your MTX DVC into series to 8 ohms.
Parallel All three drivers to give you 2.67 ohms.

Throw the SVC out of the mix. Now you have equal distribution of resistance and this will work.

This is my solution if you insist on using what you have. But your call. Good luck

haha oh i totally forgot electrons like the least resistance, thanks haha u prolly saved a woofer or 2

so 2 type r and that DVC think it would hit hard, i know numbers are hard to give but what do u think I could possibley get on the meter with those 3 subs?

Hard to say, what type of vehicle is it. Providing you have adiquate power to run the amp at high volumes I would guess !37.5-138.5 thats my guess but there is alot of factors. Box Design, Vehicle, Dampening, Power and so on. You know what I mean?
