I got some 13 layer ply sheets, 2 of those hand bended flared steel tubes, a certain marbella, one hx400 and some amps...

nope! it always gets lower. then you gotta retune but tuning back up is only a gain sometimes, depends on the vehicle.

Ross...Im not tryin to bug you but did you never tune your vehicle or just plug and play? the most important thing when your trying to achieve higher spl is to know how your vehicle reacts to different power levels and tuning frequencys, like how your frequency changes with deadened pannels and added power, not just with the box

for a quick example, i took 10 batterys outa the back of my van and i gained .7 db, my tuning still peaked the same but the note lower than my peak was louder and the note above my peak lost almost a db....it was the oposite before i removed the batterys! useless info to some but i took notes anyway!!

its a funny thing but it has mainly to do with the impedance curve and the velocity of the port...thats why loading the port a certain distance from a surface is extremely important
