DJ I don't know how much of the butyl or whatever it is stuck on the car still, but have you tried a torch and scraping after it gets soft? Assuming that the torch will melt it of course.

Actually freshie, I didn't heat it up as much originally but once I kept the heat gun on it, I was able to scrape it off easily. Those areas are grooved so it is pretty much impossible to take it off. It is very smooth though. Those areas that you still see the tar is probably about .5mm so they will actually help to stick the american bass deadener better. I'm still gonna try to get as much off *** possible.

I do believe that the water is coming in from the back where the lights are. The seam on back of the hatch needs to be recovered so I might either fill it with seam filler or fibreglass matt it. I believe that it is also coming from bother the rear quarters. That is going to be done in the next two weeks once my bodyman has freed up some space in his shop.

What if they strip your car again like last season? Isn't the extra .5 against the rules? lol

Its not really .05. I just threw that out there bro. Its basically residue which I am still in the process of removing. Got some more of it out last night as well.
