I'm thinking of doing a wall in my caravan for daily driving. Optimally, I would like to use my 2 15L5's, but 1) can I do a wall that small in a caravan? and 2) It just seems a waste not to go with like 4 15's. After I figure out the equipment, what are some major things I should consider? Should I strip all the panels off, or can I leave them on? How should I seal against the window? How do I secure the box to the vehicle? Just looking at getting some opinions/info.

2 - 15's can be done, 4 - 15's will be louder but also can be done. We have a competitor with 4 - TREO TSi 15.4's and a Treo SSX1500.1D in a wall in the back of his family's caravan ... removable too. He seals it with trim panels and the box comes apart into 2 sections.

The more you seal, the more you'll gain ... up to a point of dimishing returns. All depends on how crazy you want to go. I say just do trim panels and make the trim panels as close to the contours of the van. Trim it with carboard and then trace it onto wood ... wrap it in a forgiving material like plush carpet and stuff the sides of the box with whatever you can find.

Is it ok to make a wall that is not very "deep" (look at my idea as taking out the side out of the van and viewing it):

Basically, if I go with 2 15's, the wall will only be like maybe a foot and a half deep, and probably over 3 feet wide both height and width wise. Is is better to have a deeper box for a wider support base, or is it not that big of a deal? That is my biggest question right now.

Also, what is the best way to secure the box to the chasis? Are self tapping screws the way to go, or is there a better method?

Box dimensions don't really matter, just make sure you have the proper enclosure and port; it can be as shallow or as deep as you need it. Remeber, the better you seal off the area you do not want to pressurize, the better your score will be.

Alright, so the box itself is a little more clear. Just wondering on how to secure the box, or can I just seal against the sides and top with expanding foam and hope for the best? I want to make it secure but don't want to do drastic changes to the vehicle.

Instead of drilling holes in your vehicle, be creative and use existing bolts ... seat bolts, seat-belt bolts, etc, etc.

Be aware, expading foam is pretty permanant ... it sticks and makes a mess.
