well my 10L7 is a dual 4 ohms and i need a dual 2 ohms sub so my amp does full power at 1 ohm. i need a cheap dual 2 ohm sub and went to AVU and saw older model type r on sale. so i bought a type r 12" dual 2 ohms and made a spl box for it. my question is will a type r 12" survive 2500rms 2 sec burp? haha i dont think it could handle. probably gonna blow. i'll be at the show on may 21

what amp is it? because that will dictate whether it actually is doing the 2500wrms it claims. Anyway if the amp actually is doing 2500wrms at 1ohm (which I strongly doubt) then I seriously doubt the type R will take it well...I am sure it will handle a couple but eventually its gonna give out either by burning up or more likely mechanically

i think it might depend on the kind of box its in.thermaly it could probly take it for 2 sec but mechanically?

I don't work for AVU, but you guys are unrealistic in your warrantee expectations.

Deliberately over powering a speaker to the point of damage, is like driving a car into a power pole and expecting the manufacturer to replace your bumper.

That said, I have, and am currently over-powering every speaker in my car system. Have they blown? NO. But, I would never approach the manufacturer or distributer for warrantee to cover my stupidity.
