Whats up guys so after a long time away and then what seems like an even longer 2 months of waiting for the green light to start this project I finally got it:smilie_da so I guess I should start with some pics of my Asrto I am goin to use and she is pretty clean not much rust on her at all only got like 169,000km on it to so I think its a good candidate. I am goin to start to rip the inside apart tomorrow if its as nice as it was today. I am goin to be hitting Yuli up in a few weeks also for some TFone 18's. This is goin to take a little while to get everything done that I want to but I can't even wait to get back in the lanes.

Ya unfortunately I have to wait a few months to get some power but I am soo hoping I have enough by then to get my first 1100.1 :). I hope to start the box VERY soon plan to lay 3.5" of concrete plus 2" or so of MDF on the floor. I hope your ready to work Craig lol.

DuWayne I know where you can get a cheap pair of amps that would work really well with two TF18's.

Whats Craig been doing? I haven't seen him since S.O.S. Is he even on this forum? We're going to bring some Windsor competitors back on the SPL circuit. It's just going to take a little time. I think having a meter in Windsor will help spur a little interest. ;)

yes he will be soon but after some talking with him his van wont be all that musical so.. atleast ill still be able to play music close to as loud as he will

i talk to craig every now and then was gunna pic some motors up but had no cash at the time i think hell be using the motors he has now

and hopefully windsor gets back up and going with spl would be sweet

Ya my van is goin to be a one not wonder bass race is all you Derek and we are here to push each other to get louder right :) and for sure a meter here Paul I really hope will spark spl in the W again. It used to be pretty popular I mean there where not to many all out systems but at least people use to compete. I guess we have to have shows for people to go to first lol

u said as loud as him? i think he will play music much louder, even if it sounds like doo doo, it will still be stupid loud. people think there is a big diff. between tones and music when it comes to SPL, but there really isnt much of a difference. it's just easier to work and tune with a tone.

a car that can burp 160 can play music at close to 160, there wont be a 10 db difference between the two at all.

next week we will play music in the golf on the big SD amp. it will break 150, im more than certain. I'm gonna predict it will break 152 on music.

So started the tear down today I am getting soo excited to get some wood in the van. Kids are very helpful with this project also lol my son watches Mighty Machines everyday and he tells me he can build my box for me lol. The second pic is my first question so I know in SS or SM you cant do anything in front of B pillar so would I be able to cut this right at the B pillar??? and just a few pics of what I got done today. Not very exciting yet but its got to start somewhere lol.

Some Astro owners would have paid a good buck for that headliner....

Ya I left the headliner from the B pillar forward just don't know about the lights on the roof it goes past the B pillar will I be able to cut it ? I would not be able to build my box as tall as I want to.

My understanding is anything from between the B's rear is fair game. Cut the console. :smilie_da

alright my understanding was a car that will burp say a 160 at 60hz wont play music that great/loud i mean.. will be loud but probly wouldent sounds the best

yah it would sound like doo doo. but would still be loud as hell.

lol, last year i was at 52... and it barely played music.. it not like rap at all.
this year im gonna be burping at 63-65 ish range. soo much for music this year .. hahahha. the best part about tunning high.. u can add a crap load of power and it will almost not pop your subs. keep up the good work .. can wait too see u on the lanes man.

So put in some more work today and the van is ready to start the floor of the box just got to cut my light console a bit and get those damn black covers on the floor where the seats hook in. They are kinda a pain to get out even in my last astro I had trouble screes all rusted and stuff but I will get them out and hope to start the floor by the weekend.

Take that light down and cut off what you need b-pillar back is fair game bro.

what are the plans? how will be the box?

I am goin to start with a straight up wall I think like the pic in my avatar see how loud I can get that and work out the bugs in my van and go from there. I do want to lay about 3 to 3.5 inches of concrete in the floor of the box so I hope to get that done this weekend. I will have my money for my subs pretty soon so I want to get the box started so I can drop them in when I get them.

make it square with a moving back wall, so you can adjust the volume for your subs, don't test with just a hole instead of port because when you make the port (and round it) all will change.

Thanks for that info muriloalvares. Here are some pics of what I got done yesterday the now ready for the box. I got the floor all cleaned up I got the side door track and hinge off also so know I can make the box square at the passenger door side instead of a 45d angle. I also got that light console cut, I was goin to go buy some wood to start the floor before work but its crappy out so I am goin to chill today. I need a drill bad though its not fun taking rusty screws out with a screw driver lol.

Forgot to tell you guys this story. The short version I went to the local audio store Factory Auto Sound to ask how much they would charge me for some soloX's again I say again because I bought my last pair from there when they where first released both for 2400. Now I have known the owners since I was 13 but now they deal with nothin but rich mofos so he couldn't even bother to say whats up as he looked at me threw his office glass. But anyways So I asked them how much they would charge me if I wanted to get them again they had the nerve to say 1999.00 EACH plus tax I could not even believe what he told me then he want on to tell me that re-cones go for 1000 LMFAFO I laughed all the way out the store. So if your ever in windsor and you go to that shop you better bring you black card cause your about to ripped right off that place is a joke.
