For the record, you are all smoking something funny.

The factory Lightning is only a tenth of a second slower than a factory SRT-10. Mustang Mag did tests.

That's a 380hp(factory) truck a tenth of a second slower than a 500hp truck......hmmm, there's something wrong with this picture.

Not to mention, you can upgrade the hell out of the 5.4 in the Lightning.....what upgrades can you get for an 8.0L V-10? Spend 300 bucks on a chip for the Lightning and you have the SRT-10 beat no problem.

and you would actually trust a magazine devoted to a Ford product to endorse another company's product?

I think you just blurted that out instead of thinking....I said mustang mag did tests and the Lightning was a tenth of a second slower.

Dereck, it's all in how the trucks are driven.....a great driver could have the Lightning and beat an SRT with a rookie driver.

Also, you're pretty much right about the interior...except the Lightning comes with white face guages and really nice seats.....other than that, yea it's a run of the mill F-150 interior.

so let me get this straight, you go ahead and insult me, and right in the next post disprove yourself?

what tests? are these scientific tests that can be repeated over and over again? or did these guys run the trucks through a quarter mile? and who knows under what circumstances or how many runs they did to get their numbers, or rather to get them to favor Ford

I dug this comparison review up where the difference is .4 seconds in the quarter, and they did "tests" too, check out the trap speed too while you're at it: http://www.edmunds.com/reviews/compa...7/article.html

if you're going to make a point, at least use a more reliable source than a magazine that relies on the Ford community, and I'm sure a good number of Ford's advertising dollars. Really, what do you expect them to say, the Dodge kicks the crap out of the Lightning? I don't know if that's true, but I sure as hell wouldn't trust Ford monthly to tell me
