24-bit Burr-Brown digital-to-analog converter

I see this is included with the CDA-9887. Would something like this make much of a difference?

My previous deck had 24 bit resololution, and I could hardly notice that...

There have been numerous discussions about this, but the general consensus is that most people will never notice the difference.

However if you happen to have a high end system, you will notice a difference if you know what to listen for.

Some high end decks, like the RFX-8240 (Denford) have a 1 bit DAC, and it's a really, really nice sounding deck.

A lot of decks sound great with 1 bit DAC's Alpine, Eclipse etc.

^ X2 agree

The performance also varies from the quality of the transport, and the circuit design of I/V to the preamp stage etc.
