3" or 4" mid that kicks azzzz?!?!??

Anyone have any recommendations??

This is for a dash/a-pillar install. My criteria is as follows :

Can't be anything nasty big size wise.
Should be reasonably cheap.
Should not sound cheap.
I need this thing to play down fairly low and yet play clean and reproduce without coloration at moderate volume levels.
Don't give a F*** about cosmetics, name brands, etc...... it's just gotta work.
Has to be new.
Will purchase from just about anywhere as longas the price is right....... Bob.

Yes, I generally want everything for nothing. This IS CCA afterall isn't it !!

The 830883 is the 7inch from peerless...not the one you want hehe.

When thking of a 3inch, peerless also came to my mind, this is would be a brilliant pic.

How about 4.5"?
These sound really good in doors. Not so sure about free air.
Will you be enclosing them somehow?

Edit: NM, just read your note about budget. :P

How about check out the new Hertz ML700? I am not sure what your real budget is here tho. That is going to likely be my add on to go three way up front. I also have a mille set currently so that does have a bearing on my decision. I have also been told really good things about Hybrid Audio's L3 driver and L4 too for that matter. There are literally a ton of options out there tho. Morel, Focal, Peerless, Seas, the list goes on.

Zaphaudio.com is a dangerous place as it's going to cause me to spend my money. I'm thinking of those DIY-er 3" full range units for my home theatre to replace a BOSE system. $17 a piece for the driver and x-over parts. That's under $100 parts wise for 5 pieces for HT roughly. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
