Those eclipses are pretty bad ***, you can get 2 for the price of a used W7. I wouldn't worry about selling them locally, just sell them on here when your done with them.

I have an itching to get them myself.

Yeah, but then I have to have a box built, another $200 and I'll need a bigger amp, more money that I won't get back when I can get the used W7 & an amp, to my door for under $600CDN and prolly turn around sell them again for $4-$500 in 1.5 years and take a minimum loss while enjoying the wonderful sounds of the W7 in it's natural environment. LOL

I dont mean to sound like a dick, but if you are looking to make your money back, I wish you luck.

Popular trends can change with the time of day, for example, around here JL is considered junk, even the JL dealer says its "a slight upgrade to stock."

Where you are, right now a JL sub may fetch good money, but thats not to say that 1.5 years down the road that will remain the case.

IMO, buy something that will do what you need and sound good, and think of it as an enjoyment item alone. If you can sell it down the road, great, if not at least you had fun with it.
And youll always be able to sell it for SOMETHING to someone.

And I agree. The other wonderful thing about where I live is that trends take extra long to get here. JL is still a relative unknown here. I experimented with the W3's back in the late 90s/early 2000s and while I thought they sounded great, there was that issue with the surrounds falling apart.

And while those eclipse subs (for example) probably are better subs then the W7 (who really knows), I like the idea of being able to buy a "top end" sub in a factory made enclosure versus having a box built out-of-province because no one here does it.

So many reasons outside the realm of what people on here are used to because I'm in such a unique area.

My other option, which I may still go with, is to buy 2 JBL GTO8's from smartass and have a professional box builder from mainland canada build me a box specifically for these subs.

Getting 4 eD 9KV.2v3's installed into my roommates 88 Lebaron Coupe.

They are very loud and have great reproduction across all frequencies...
