Alpine Bass Engine Features
#1
I'm intending on buying an Alpine Head Unit and am wondering if the 4-channel digital time correction [Bass Engine Plus] is a worthwhile (noticeable) feature for the money? And how about the additional upgrade for the 5-Band Digital Parametric Equalizer [Bass Engine Pro]? Or is it better to save the cash and wait and see and buy aftermarket signal processing equipment if necessary?

why would an extereior piece that made you go d/a and then a/d and then d/a again be vastly superior to the dsp chip in the alpine heads for digital time correction, x-overs , and parametiric eq? anyway the benefits of bass engine pro far outwieigh that of the cost difference between a deck with and without it

there is a noticeable difference to running a deck without t/c to running a deck with properly setup t/c i run a 9835 and the deck sounds stunning. the eq is decent, the xovers rock and the time correction really kicks ***. i think the deck is worth the money.

Sounds like TA is fine but jury still out on the EQ. If you set up TA for the drivers seat position can you turn it off (at least the left vs right TA) for when you have passengers in the car? I would want TA for the sub at all times since it is mono and will be in the back seat. Is this possible or is it a one time set up?
