from what i understand, the h800 still has alot of issues to work out. noise floor is lower at low volume but not at high volume or near the clipping point. the H701 is still competitive at this point thats why its still in demand. maybe after 9 months to a 1 year when they correct most of the issues in the H800 then it becomes the H801 only it will be worth to buy. imo.

i cant beleive i am going to say this but..... buy the arc piece.. its probably THE best processor ever.. I have owned everything from the altec lansing alc-20, coustic xm-7, rockford 360.2, pioneer odr, ms-8 and worked with the bit one. this one looks to be the cats meow. i definitly will be buying one if it ever comes out..

XM-7 IIRC was only a crossover with a 1 band parametric EQ - I guess it's a processor

Can't really explain in words - my reference system sounded off when it was the primary source. Put back in the BP25 Bryston pre amp and everything was good. Even with my Clarion DRX9255 is was perfect.

That's a very scientific explanation you came up with "sounded off", I applaud your attempt at explaining the phenomenon you've encountered, Thank you
