Alpine PXA-H900 Woes
4 or 5...the displays were definitely a big probelm....one was unable to be fixed because there just wasnt any parts available to fix it...........for me its a small price to pay for owning one.....alpine h900 displays are kinda like eclipse cd players....its not a matter of if but when it will break and you never really know if its gonna get fixed properly at that
Wiki is quoting 14000 hours for the life of an OLED, the quote I got from SONY 2+ years ago was MUCH less (in my earlirer post) but it is an immature technology for sure. Samsung looks to be doing a lot of development work with them and showed quite a few at CES this year (but they do not feel it is ready yet for introduction as a consumer product). Sony didn't show much that was new but they have had an OLED TV on the market for 2 years.
(I still dont know if a biolight is an OLED)

i had a spare so it wasnt such a problem for the customer...i keep a extra h900 around for emergencies....i have to put one in a guys house with some speakers that im supposed to build for him with f#1 status 3 way components.....if i can ever manage to find the time
I have heard of people mistakenly listening to music with the AiNet signal which is a big step down from the optical signal...could this possibly have been your experience?
The DVA-7996 transport and optical output is the same as the CDA-7990.(F1 Status) From a reliability standpoint, I have no reason to switch to a z1.
One further thing that I remember about my H900, is that it had it's display replaced once already as a demo unit. When I took delivery of it from the dealer, I remember being told that the display had recently been replaced. Disassembly of the display housing and inspecting the circuitboard for signs of re-soldering has confirmed this.
My first H900 display crapped out about 3 years ago but I was lucky enough to find the replacement part from PAC. Now my 7990 is starting to act up.
Just this past summer I purchased 2 more used H900's in good condition & have not had a problem with them.
I also agree that the digital input is far better than anolog, hands down.
Adam, contact starboy869, he has a contact in Japan for F#1 stuff.
