I saw the deal on the three way and wanted feed back. I''ve never used 3-ways and I know they are a pain to setup vs. 2-way.

I have used in the past MB Quarts, JBL GTi, Alpine Type R's, Soundstream evt.

My home setup consist's of speakers by Vonschweikert and a Paradigm sub - It's such a difference getting in to my car and the quality is not there!

I'm NOT doing this for competitions reasons. I'm looking for the best sounding speaker with the least amount of placement adjusting needed!

 

Yeah i definitely know what you mean with that and have started to consider using car audio for home audio, not sure about that one yet but would like to try it out.

Alright so as it is, with the a 3-way set you'd have to be willing to do the buildup for a set of kicks or as you stated early doing some fibreglassing on the a-pillar. It does take abit of work but really if your looking for something just for yourself in the sq and with the least amount of adjustment work, go with a set of 2-ways.

Your like me in this car, when i did my setup it was all about sq and what i had was:

jl 300/2
2- a/d/s a10s
jl 500/1

did it sound clean, yes i liked very much up until the day it got stolen, made me wanna cry. I'm lucky tho for the comps they only stole my xovers but those things are so nice, but i still have the speakers towork with, just need to find an amp to run them active or get another 3-way xover for passive operation.

So b/c most of my works all done, like my kicks were made, it's easier for me, but if i were to do it all over again, i think i'd run a good 2way, due to the work that was put in. a 3-way will definitely get louder but if it's only for you, i'd reccomment a 2-way.

 

Definitely lose the 3 way component idea and start looking at Morel components. After that a darn good install.

I'm a little new to morel - unfortunately no retailers in the Sarnia area had them!

What do you recommend - My other options are the Diamond Audio HEX S600 - 6.5's

DLS makes some really nice speakers that are very install friendly, the Iridiums are super easy to install and sound good, they take a little bit of tweaking to sound great, but they'll sound good anywhere, and the tweeter never, ever gets harsh.

 

Morel is a Israeli build house, I know that they made the high end Phoenix Gold components and some of the Alpine Type X components, not sure if they still do but it is entirely possible. Morel is a big step up from other lines available on the market today.
