Amp opinions for SQ - care to give some reviews on these?
well, unfortunately all the amps I had in mind have sold except for the RF 800a2, so I think I will go for that in the bass section.
Still undecided on the rest of my sound spectrum though. How about Xtant, specifically the 2002Ts (the newer xtants with the crossovers etc built in and accessable from the front)
As far as the sound I enjoy, I enjoy my bass to be very smooth, not analytical. I enjoy a warmer midrange, and like full female vocals especially, and full warm strings. I like definition of the top end, and dont mind it a bit brigher/more analytical here. Eli47/Jaxom/Milton any suggestions?
Thanks very much for help everyone! I find that in car audio im too indescisive, so hopefully soon I can settle on something and be done (at least for now)

Im running a 50 dollar Mobile Authority 4 channel amp to drive my front stage, 65 dolar panasonic mids in the doors and 20 dollar prestige tweeters on the dash and I have won in my class in both sq comps that I competed in this summer. The secret is that I run an excellent source unit, the Alpine CDA-9813 the same unit Mike Peckham has used 2 years in a row to win at the IASCA SQ world finals. Now I understand that your not building your system for competition, your building it to sound good for everyday use and thats what I did to and the fact that I can compete with it and do well is just a bonus!

No, the secret is NOT the source, or EQ or crossover....the REAL secret is install.
I could run a bottom of the line Aiwa deck with 5x7 Bose plate speakers for front end and do very well in competition if they were installed properly. Equipment doesn't mean anything at all unless you take the time to do your install properly.
I've heard cars running a 3 way comp set off passives with no EQ and mid to entry level decks that produced some of the best sound I've ever heard. Why? Install.

max fidelity is made by max caliber but they are not made the same way much better quality.
my 2 cents
