Tube amps on sub bass
#1
It's been my experience that tube amps are a little lacking when it comes to being able to reproduce clean sub bass. At least when compared to a good solidstate amp. This is my experience from a home audio world anyway. Will the same be true with hybrid car audio tube amps (in my case, Butler Audio). I will be using the 2x 150 watt model from tube driver on a 12" sub.

Okie doke..
The Tube Driver Blue amps are a lot tighter than the original TD amps..
A Class D amp is that much tighter and more controlled again, and a good Class A/B is better than that more often than not.
Depends on what you like your bass to sound like.

A nice powerfull Class A/B monoblock is the way to go, or a 2-channel bridged..

How are the Blade tube amps on Subs? (VTH100)
I have a Blade G1254 (4x125wrms@4ohms)and was thinking of using it as my sub amp....Was using an Infinity Beta 300, But I am trying to run all Blade in my car along with the VTH 100's.

gyguy.. What kind of question is that? I've owned more than 7 Tube Driver amps at one time, A/B'ed the TD vs thr TD blue, and auditioned the Millbert and US Amps Tube models.
Most of them sounded great spatially and tonally, but didn't have the edge and attack of a solid state amp.
I haven't listened to the Blade tubes.. but since you want to play the quoting game: I said NONE OF THE TUBE AMPS I HAVE HEARD...
And as for how I could possibly hear how tight an amp was.. I can only say that it's a shame that you can't. The difference is obvious.
