Aperiodic mats
so the consensus is...IB is the better way to go? I thought the sealing of the rear/trunk may create the biggest problem to do properly, and thought that the AP would alleviate that problem. Well, at least I've received very good information, and now i know at least 3 drivers that have been used successfully.
I've seen your install Defro, the aluminum baffle is definitely sweet, any idea what that would cost a regular person (not in the car audio install field)?

By and large an A/P set up is simply I/B with the addition of a resistive mat, placed in front of, or behind, the driver. The same care in proper sealing of the rear/trunk from the passenger compartment (front of driver / rear of driver) are essential to the success of both.
