Dogbaker; I support you, those that dont understand quantum phyiscs will never understand. So thosethat cant concieve 1 billionth of 1 second will never understand . Everything to that degree is measurable. To the human ear?

We can measure audio with quantum physics, and it's usefull? Give me a break!

Reducing standing waves - they shouldn't even happen in a small box. Basic theory or not, if it's important enough than it's worthy of being discussed, let alone be considered advanced.

SPL accounts for way more than 1% of audio sales. An SPL'r spends like 10X the money the DIY-daily tuned user does, and you see maybe 1 in every 10 people dropping lots of money on SPL. I think it's more like 30/70.

I just said; 1 concieveable 1 billionth of 1 second. to my knowledge. that is the maximum measurable rate currently.

Thank you.

It’s late – so I’ll take to this briefly, but I will refine my points later, so please excuse me if I am not that clear.

What we have learnt is that our ear-brain combo is vastly more complex than we thought. As are our eye’s...

Back about 16 years ago Factual mathematics was coming into great review and application in video graphics because it allowed programs to recreate highly accurate landscapes and with very little programming – in fact, at the time, regardless of storage (25 floppies), it was impractical to attempt to render realism.

Fractal proofs showed us that there is in fact an intrinsic order to things and that from a very basic outline (code) we can extrapolate the exact full image - mountain landscape were improved greatly... we discovered that they don’t form randomly that there was an order and that we could recreate it mathematically in a PC – and we did, and gaming took off...

That same math allowed for many other applications and discoveries...

With sound, we discovered that our brains take a very small sample from the ear and in fact build a huge sonic and pictorial images within our minds eye and brain... the most important aspects of this data are still unclear but to date the time arrival (phase) of this data to the brain is clearly paramount – at data resolutions at least down to the Pico level.

If the brain gets the only part of the data or receives it late, if you will, it outputs or create a completely different set of experience etc –Now, at the same times as it produces the aforementioned, it also produces a host of additional physiological responses and experiences...

In basic terms, the key function / ability is to interpret varying air pressures as sound – our ear is a mechanical transducer, which coverts acoustic pressure into a different form of energy that the mind can process etc... So in this light a health ear can pickup fluctuations in time, at a resolution down in the Pico range...

If air audibly moves past our ears, it is picked it up and processed in real time...

I can do a much better job at relating this at another time of day...

So while some will argue that are modern measurement systems and approaches don't allow for the objective measurement of such data, it doesn’t negate the fact that our ear-brain combo has no problem doing so and after all, it is the ear-brain combo that we are trying to emulate in measurement sensitivity, resolution, bandwidth and so on...

While we have a way to go, there has been a few paradigm shifts within the last 20-years and we are in fact currently able to measure such subtle shifts in time...

I have such gear within 50-feet of me.

Very exciting times!

The quality of any stereo system is paramountly rooted the timely delivery of all paramount data to the brain... One day we will by pass the ear - perhaps next year!

Lord you sound like you don't have a clue - standing wave will and do occur in and any encloused space -

If you can't see the light - get out of the sun, as you might block it from reaching others...

Bring facts with citations for don't bring them...

Now leave others alone and attempt to pick me -

LOL - The was a decent smack!

If you're serious - I can most likely get you some help out there...

What model and qty of subs are you currently targeting?

This is all way above me

BUT...this horn box?? SQ or SPL, whos been winning comps with it?

What do the champions run? Any horn boxes?
6 db increase? Damn that would make me a champ!!!

I can be pompous sometimes too, but you're out there man...

nevermind the tapped horn box, the 6db increase or this guy in general. all his answers and theories are straight from google, try it and see.

he knows as much about what he's saying as i know about Roman history.

he gets one credit tho, and that is failure of mobile dynamics.

Enough about the Tapped Horn - I have provided a link (in previous text) to Danley's white paper describing all of the benefits of their most recent modifications to the design...

Go argue to Tom Danely (a NASA Scientist) and the patent office for granting him several patents based on his research.

YOU asked about getting louder - I have simply said that a more efficient box would be a good place to start and I recommended that you look into Danley... I didn't tell you that your system was or to pull it out...

So if you're really interested in more output, stop being so emotional and afraid to consider something new - I only said consider, objectively, look at all the facts and decide if it's worth the risk to you to go down a road less traveled...

I am not saying the a Tapped Horn is the best route for everyone, just that Danleys version is the most efficient box alignment conceived to date - not my opinion, but objective fact.

That is why there the number one bass systems sold in the USA and pro-audio...

They are also used in he-end home theatre when there is room, as Tapped system traditionally requires larger boxes then ported etc...

But if you use smaller drivers, you could build a much smaller box and drop it in most vehicles...

But in terms of all out dB drag - where space is available - they're an option worth consider...

So for the last time, stop arguing with me and go argue with Tom Danley PhD and the patent office, the same one that has granted patents on the variations that you're current using...

And lastly - this is not an SPL tread - enough about the Tapped Horn - I have provided a link (in previous text) to Danley's white paper describing all of the benefits of their most recent modifications to the design...

And for some of you, after some consideration decide that you would like to build one of these things, be nice to me and I will help guide you through the process - hell, I might even test your drivers for you and send you a hardcopy of the actual specs...

Lesson number 1: Bad data = bad design - Good data = better design

I can help with getting Good Data and at no charge...it’s an SQ thread...

Have I repeated myself enough yet?

1. funny, you coppied and pasted twice.

2. you really gotta get off Tom Danley's dick

3. get a hold of a time machine and return to 15 years ago where you'd feel much more confortable and could write more bogus product reviews for PAS mag.
