Audison LRX1.400 VS others

Hey Guys,

I have a question regarding the setup i'm building for my 300c.

Right now On highs i'll have

Front Stage
Audison SRX2S - Powering a pair of focal K3 Midbasses.
Audison SRX4 - Powering Focal 100kp Mids and Tn52 Tweeters.

Rear Fill
Audison SRX3 - Mid Channels Powering a set of 165kp Focals.
- Sub Channel Powering an Elemental Designs E700u (Factory Sub location)

Now, My question is I have 2 Brahma 12" subs... i was planning on running them at 2 ohm bridged. off of a viper d2500.1.

But the viper is too big of an amp for my install, not to mention its ugly as sin. So i'm planning on picking up 2 amps, 1 to power each sub.

Right now i'm looking at the Directed D2400 on ebay. Other amps i'm considering are the ED Nine.1 and the Orion HCCA 250G4... if i can find a pair.

My question is, Would it be beneficial to go with the audison LRX 1.400. how would the 900-1000w sound going to the brahmas (planning on a small sealed enclosure about 1.25 -1.4 cuft) would it be worth the extra money just for the continuity. or would i be better off getting the Directed's or the Nine.1's

Source Unit - Alpine IVA w200. and a PXA-H701 processor.

I would rather see you run them with more power than that Audison has and damn the cosmetics.
Just use the Viper and hide it if you don't like the looks.

Another problem i have with the viper is, if 2 brahmas are too much bass for me, and i decide to sell one off, i'd need an amp to run that brahma, thats why i was considering two.

How would 2 directed 2400's stack up to the viper

About the same performance wise. If you sell a Brahma just leave the Viper wired to 4ohm. Viper 2500D's don't go for big cash these days but they are good performers so IMO keep it and be happy with the power.

If you dont have the amp yet..........buy the new LRX1.1K Mono Block Amplifier..........it has was more current capabilty and works better at 1 Ohm than the older amp did.

The new amp is fan cooled........and doesn't need the add on fans that you would need for the LRX1.400 amp.........its also 1090 Watts RMS, way better crossover 24db per octave........also gives you options later on .........high level input option should you ever buy a car that is REAL hard to change the head unit in............plus, plus, plus.........lots more.

WAY more POWER than last years amp too...........they will also be bringing out a 2000 Watts RMS version ........probably in Septemer though.........but I would give the current one a try.........no-one that used it has complained.

Oh...........and the best part is..........its the same price as last years amp too !!

Cartunes in Coquitlam, BC .........has one powering 12...........12" Hertz subwoofers........it rocks !!

Hmm, So i guess in the end, the audisons wouldnt be worth it.

Can someone PM me a price on the LRX 1k1.

I'd like to use the viper. but i'm not sure i have the room for that amp since it has such a large footprint. If i cant fit it i'll probably go with 2 smaller amps and mount them in seperate positions.

Would 1000w RMS be reasonable to send to each brahma in a 1.3 cube box?

Wouldnt the viper be too much power to send to the brahmas, I heard the MK3's are only rated at 600w rms...

I have the MKII Models.

MkII's will take more than 1500rms in daily applications with a responsible user and the correct enclosure.
In 1.3net sealed they would be just fine with your Viper 2500D.
