audison pg or zapco

Ok, opinion about Audison.
VRx-Excellent build quality; details and flexibility awesome. All these amps have *****, very powerful and clean sound.
LRx-Very good build quality, but without the features and raw power of the VRx. Half the price or less per watt. Comparable SQ to the VRx, but not quite there...
SRx-Good build quality, lots of features for the bucks, decent power but lacking in finese and grunt.
Audison amps in general match very well to Focal drivers, they compliment each other's sound nicely.
Here's where I throw you off course....
I'm using an Arc Audio XXK 4150 on the mids and tweeters(actively crossed over) of my Focal Utopia 165W3 kit, and an Audison VRx2.400 on the midbass. I've switched amp duties around so that the VRx has powered the mids or tweeters; the difference isn't as great as some would expect. The VRx is built better, has more power, and sounds more effortless. But, after about 9 months of using the XXK, I don't have any immediate plans to change it. Take that as you like, but to my ears it's well worth it's price.
Consider Arc Audio

Since most of you have already guess my vote, I'll tell you that you should buy the amp that makes the most power since all these amps are pretty much in the same class.
I'm a big fan of Zapco there very clean and will produce what they say.
I'm not a big fan of PG. They have many good products, but, and it's really not that important but, I don't like thier styling. that shouldn't make me not really like them, but it does...if they had a nicer heatsink....I probably wouldn't mind them, That said, they make great sounding products also....and since apperently amps are amps....you decide what you think is best after all it's your car/money.

hey man I've heard all three brands in friends' cars and at shops and they all rock. I say get the one that gives you most power for the money and just do what feels right, use you gut instinct. Whatever you end up doing, it'll rock.

In a review of Alumapro Subs in AS&S in October 1997 the reviewer Howard Doctor mentioned that the subs had a higher than usual inductance and that amps may clip prematurely if run into a parallel pair. He then describes that his "Audison lab amp had no trouble, but it is an amp of unusual abilities." which I think speaks volumes. Based on armchair research, I would go with Audison if money is no object and Zapco as my second choice, but speakers are always my cash priority. I don't think you will go far wrong with either choice.

You're gonna agree with a guy that says that about Audison amps just because he writes for autosound and security? I think everybody should actually go out and listen to some highend amps before posting anything else, then compare them with more mainstream amps.
Yea the VRX is nice amp and so forth but there's a few amps on the market nw that could easily match it's abilities...Brax Graphic just to name one.
