the bass cube is a 1 parametric eq with subsonic
Its basically a Phase Coupled activator.(Frequency divider) And yes it has a subsonic filter like Defro said but it is set at 29hz.

And it will not work with Hip hop and Rap!! or any bass heavy music.

It must recieve a full range input signal as someone else stated. It is nothing like a bass cube

In some systems at loud volume levels, the Epicenter is not going to do much, but at lower volume levels on the same system, the results are much different.

why wont it?
If I'm correct, the original purpose of an epicenter was to restore low bass to music that had been recorded in such a manner as to lose that information. The epicenter "sees" the higher resonate frequencies that are from the lower lost information. It then replaces the lost info with it's own enhancements. Using an epicenter on music with the information already there will make it louder perhaps, but the epicenter will be doing nothing more than creating noise. Whether it's very good at it's original purpose also seems to be up for debate.
