Best location for Tweeter in 02 Civic.

Hey folks,
Thought I would ask the SQ folks too.

I am having the installer put in a set of Focal Polyglass 165 V1 (6.5 components) into my 2002 1.7 EL (AKA a Civic Sedan). I am placing the woofer in the factory door location.

Question is... where do I put the tweeters?

The Installer thinks the A piller is where they should go and said Focal designed them to go there. Another Installer in the shop recommended in the door sill/panel far sade of the handle or in the Sail panels. And a third installer said the kick panels.

I am ruling out kick panel installation since when someone sits in the car, the tweeter ends up being blocked by their legs and/or bag (think Girlfriend).

Installing tomorrow - please let me know your thoughts and thanks folks.

I would go with "A" pillars. Nice choice going Focal. I think the Focal line is probably one of, if not the best sounding SQ component line.

My older son is going to be building a system soon and his choice is the 165K2P mainly because they sound absolutely amazing! I will too if my MBQ's ever die.

Jeezz

The correct answer is to mount them where they sound the best (smoothest freq response AND the best center image AND best staging/imaging) the BEST answer is to put them on double sided tape and try them all. But I know, I know your pressed for time and blah blah blah.
There is no substitute for doing it right the first time

imo, doors, up top and forward (rearward of the mirrors)
i used the stock a-pillar location when i had my coupe and it just didn't sound wide enough
if you feel like pulling and drilling your dash tho......
then i'd say pointing up , aimed slightly outward toward the a-pillar and reflecting off the windshield

That is the best idea I have heard so far. I'll talk to the shop and have them bear my presence.

Yup, that is the best advice for sure. Have fun!

Somehow, every system I hear, including my own, that uses Focal comps and A-pillar mounted tweets, they sound best when fired at the glass.....although, not directly at the glass but angled slightly toward it.

The reflection off the glass creates a better image, but don't ask why.
