Best midbass for my ears?

Hello music lovers,
I am looking for a new midbass driver for a two-way aktive front system with
Sinfoni amps and the Morel Supremo Piccolo tweeter.
The tweeter I choose by hearing a lot of top tweeters in my own car.
I am a pro musican and work the whole day with live acoustic instruments.
My favourite music is Jazz.
I have been reading a lot about midbasses on the internet.
Maybe the Dynadio 650, Morel Supremo, and the Hybrid L6 could be good choices. What will be the character differences of these drivers?
In the mean time I am bettering the attachement of the speakers and tuning them.
Thanks a lot for your help.
Wil

Sorry Wil, but given your level of equipment and your musical ears...your only option is to listen to as many as you can. I'd start with the supremo since you already have that tweeter and it's about as top notch as you can get. If you can get them to install it in your car that would be the best way to audition them, otherwise just listen for tonal response as any of those brands will perform properly if installed correctly. It's really your ear that has to decide what you like.

I think you are right.
But it is a lot off work and to expensive to buy a lot off midbasses.
Next week I go to a meeting and try to listen in different cars.
I would be very happy finally to know what driver I must buy.

Agreed. If i had to choose without being able to audition them...it would be the morel for 2 reasons; 1. You have the tweeter already and i'm sure when morel engineered their speakers they were very precise in what they wanted to achieve in terms of tonality, freq response, output etc... 2. Morel are known for high quality and very accurate sound reproduction...and maybe a 3rd reason...they look great!!

Try the Hybrid Audio L6SE. It's off axis response IMHO will be better and play higher the any morel or dyn midbass driver.

The Dutch importer offered me to try the L6 for free.
I am also offered to try the Morel 6 from a friend. He now has a 3-way and it sounds fantastic for me.
Both are great guys and music friends.
Maybe I have to buy the Dynaudio 650 and compare these three. Listening in my own car, with my components. I didn't like the Hybrid tweeter.

I often read the following;
Dynaudio: sounds like live music.
Morel: less detail, warm sound.
Hybrid L6: less neutral, more bright, American Sound(whatever that is?)
Do you agree with that?

De tweeter is playing from 2.5 Khz.
Midbass now is a modified Scanspeak.

Because I like jazz bass, both acoustical and electric, I am very interested in the bass reproduction.
The sub is a Phase Linear Aliante LTD 12"

Ive had excellent results with DLS MS6a and UP6 mids, and have fairly shallow mounting depths.
I also hear that some higher end CDT mids kick but as well.

the L6 has the best timbre of those listed, it differentiates instruments very well with incredible musical detail, the L6 is also the least warm or exaggerated of the bunch so many prefer other drivers even though the L6 is more accurate. Now as far as the bass impact goes a single L6 is not a good solution it is kind of wimpy by comparison to others in your list.

I have a lot of the Dynaudio drivers, their midbasses have bass impact in spades and really enjoy power (the more the better), overall they tend to be less neutral or accurate than the Hybrid as far as getting the timbre correct. There tends to be a nasal emphasis in most dyn builds... I own dyn

the Morel is closer to the Dyn than the L6 and as I haven't owned a morel I will say no more.

I have heard each of these in several of the best car systems I have ever judged and when done correctly each can be exceptional. missing from your list is the scanspeak revelator or illuminator, which is probably worthy of a listen.

Thanks a lot for your advices till now.

Maybe it's good to give some more information.
On the tweeters is a Sinfoni 90.2X ( 2x120 Watt/4ohm) ,
on the midbass a Sinfoni 150.2X ( 2x170 Watt/4ohm)
Speakercable and interlinks are Mogami.

About Hybrid: I had their tweeter in my car (Mercedes C) but it didn't gave me that live feeling like the Piccolo did.
So i'm asking myself: will the L6 have that same character?

Of course the combination of al equipment together with the acoustic elements of the car will make the combination, that has to suit my ears.
I know it's not that simple and I'll have to decide myself.
