The choices here are endless. I run a single DD9510F and it works great for me. I started off with a pair and elected to take one out because it simply was not needed. The sound quality is very good (once I got it tuned right that is) and it really cranks when needed (it can rattle your fillings loose). It took me a few enclosures to get it right because of space constraints, this is in a quad cab truck that has no space behind the rear seats. I eventually built a box that sits on the floor behind the drivers seat and fires to the passenger side with the port firing out the rear of the box. I listen to rock mostly, a lot of Eagles etc. and some newer rock stuff. I think that any well made sub can be good for daily sound quality and SQL provided the enclosure is built properly and tuned for the application. I don't get where people claim that a 15" is needed for deep bass, my little 10" plays very deep and does it well.

I understand what you're saying about peoples claims of "needing" a 15 to play low, but if a ten can get as low as a 15, then a 5 inch sub should also be able to get that low?...if not, as we both know is the case, what's the cut off point for the size of a sub that can play below the range of human hearing?......and I'm not looking for a guess here, I'll want FR graphs and whatnot (not that they are the end all be all)..in general a 15 can play lower than a 10, it's simple physics.
reality is, most tens will play low enough to make most people happy. (I'm not in that group)

Yes a 5" can play as low as a 15" can, it just cannot do it with the same amplitude. If the 10 or 12" however is designed to play that low, it will offer stunning results, as indicated in the post above your with the DD 9510F. After that it is all about the box, as evidenced, try a couple of boxes to get what you need to do it right.

Another thing to consider here is available power. My 9510 needs a lot of it to do it's thing properly. "If" I was limited to say a 500 watt amp, then my sub would be better off used as a very heavy paperweight. Just another thing to consider when choosing a sub, is what you have or plan to have available to feed it.

yes power can play a role aswell. That amp, would be perfect for a pair of 2512 4ohmdvc.. wire@ 1 ohm, and wham, they would sound great, and not THAT terribly expensive

ya I'm thinking of going that way. I called clarion today for more info on their signature series subs. and after talking to a guy, we both agreed they are not a good match for me and my amp... at least he was honest

I think the sigs aren't a great choice for you, but honestly at the end of the day it comes back to YOU...YOUR likes... YOUR wants.. We can give suggestions, but thats about it
