Ahhh, I see. In addition to a solid box with a heavy front panel, you would add another heavy baffle, and de-couple it from the enclosure.
Isolation material? something better than silicone i would imagine...

The way I understand it, decoupling is more SQ based anyway...so what's a few db's if your going after less resonance and an overall better sound? You adjust your subass accordingly and your off to the races.

What I can't figure out, is a way to decouple properly without using some kind of glue for the decoupled baffle. Glue would likely be useless because it has no give....silicone wouldn't work because it wouldn't adhere as well as glue and likely has too much give...so is there a happy medium?

I guess the closest product available to the the happy medium would be 2 sided tape?

Dukk, if you don't mind me asking, which midbasses are you using? Also what frequencies are u planning on (in u'r design)giving those bad boys?
