I'm running a 10" eclipse s7000 sub in a .75 cu sealed enclosure. I could get even smaller than that if i wanted a tighter sound, but The bass is currently perfect for what i like (sounds more like a 12 at lower volumes) Their 12" s7200 model would work perfectly, and runs on about 500wats RMS. Aluminum cone and a heavy build make it real accurate in the bass department. I'm a happy customer.
Would like to hear more about Eclipse's 6.5" aluminum 3way component system though if anyone has one?

...in addition... make sure your box is at LEAST 3/4" thick MDF or fiberglass, or a 12" sub will flex the hell ot of it and sound muffled and distorted.

MTT is correct, the DIYMA sub appears to be right up your alley. It likes a small enclosure, the power requirement is just about spot on. It is a very nice SQ sub, blends very nicely with the front stage.
