Good call Sean.....I almost forgot OZ Audio existed untill you just mentioned it.

Yea, a Matrix would work well....another one to maybe consider that is FAR cheaper than the IDMAX is the Crystal CMP or CMP2

Eclipse aluminum subs in a nice small sealed enclosure of 2.5 cubes will do the trick quite nice for a SQ application. Tried and true for 5 years now with not one dissappointed customer. I have used the exact combination of that Crossfire amp and these subs no less than 2 dozen times over the years with amazing and highly predictable outcomes every single time. Retail on these subs is $380.00 each but with some haggling from your nice local Eclipse dealer here on the island, I am sure we can get a nice CCA discount going should they interest you.

Lots of different combinations available, all depends on what you would like to do.

I would have to run my amp at 4 ohm, give about 4-600watts for the pair, is that plenty?

Silgle 8ohm each for an overall 4ohm load!

Considering that the BMF1000D is a great 1 ohm mono amp, a pair of 8 ohm drivers is not the best choice for him unfortunately. While they could work and sound fine, it would be a waste of all the power he has on tap to run the amp at around the 300w rms mark into a 4 ohm load, when this amp shines while running at 1 ohm. A pair of dvc 4 ohm drivers is his best choice should he choose to run the amp at full pull.

im running my DD daily at 1 ohm, burp at 1 ohm, etc

loves it! only went into protect when my ground took a .

Eclipse, im not too sure, i love their head units, never owned a eclipse product before, only heard.

I was thinking about eclipse, but ill have to find a local shop that has the series youre talking about.

p.s i want ported:cheeky4:

MR2NR 07-18-2006 02:11 AM

Hmmmm, if you have not heard them before, what makes you want ported?

bensta 07-18-2006 02:17 AM

i run ported right now, every setup ive done is ported

i just like the sound, with a proper box its more candy to my ear then a sealed.

theboy 07-18-2006 09:33 AM

i also know a person who has a few mint condition 4ohm sls300 that he would part with for the same $$$

MR2NR 07-18-2006 10:50 AM

Until you hear these subs in the proper box you truly will have no idea as to how good they really sound. If all you have ever eaten is salads, how were you supposed to know what desert tasted like? Candy comes in many forms, sealed being one of them with the proper choice of subs to box.
