Dynamic Headroom?
One subject i figured would pop up in this thread was speakers and how they handle this headroom. The sudden peak of input that pushs the voice coil beyond the region of magnetic flux, so that it loses power and becomes non linear (dynamic compression). This means it stops producing more output, it can't process incoming signal properly and frequency response changes. This is yet another consideration when working with your woofer/amplifier combination.
Wow i actually remembered some theory!
You were right pei330 there is alot more thought put into these threads then some general diss. topics.

Bob was dealing with guys who said "tube amps are the bomb, they sound better, even order harmonics, etc.". He felt he could make a cheap amp sound like a super high end tube amp quite easily by making some adjustments on a regular solid state class AB amp. Needless to say, nobody wants to get punked so I don't think Bob or any of his prodcuts have seen the light of day in any of those high end magazines since.
BY "Punked" do you mean the way he tried to sue manufacturers who were manufacturing a long throw woofer in a small box or something like that..??
If I remember right he tried to patent what was essentially a woofer in a box and then try and muscle royalties from other manufacturers for putting long throw woofers in a small box....point being how do you patent the very fact that a woofer needs to be in a box....obviously he got a patent he shouln't have...No wonder the industry is mad at him...
