Dynaudio 240 MKII

Well... I used to sell Dynaudio at my old store.
They're one of the great sounding speakers out there..... when properly installed! It has good bass detail and warm mid.

You know one of the things about Dynaudio I dont like is they just dont do any R&D to improve their car speakers. The design has been static for what... 10 years (?).
Of course they dont need to do much to improve it... but the hungry brands are niping at their heels and may or may not be better(like Morel, Focal, Zapco, and JBL among others).
I think the MD100 tweeter is Dyns weak link
I think their midrange presentation is top notch but the warmth region is a little slow

Hehehe.
Thanks JohnVroom. I told my customer that you'd have an accurate appraisal, if anyone did.
It's hard to sell a product I've never heard, but only heard of.
I think I have the ability to get 'em sounding pretty good in this application...seems to be enough room where the stock 6x9s are to be able to get a bit of a baffle in there.
Tweets might be a bit wild off the glass, but there's 4 other mounting options available, so we'll see....I'm thinking the kicks might be the place to put em.
There's room in the back doors for another set of something....I've suggested waiting to hear what's lacking before deciding on anything there...Anyone have an opinion for rear fill with these, or is it even neccessary?

I have talk to Al from Dynaudio a few years ago about their product line. and it seems that they're just more focus on their home speakers then the cars. and they don't feel it needs to be improved... at least not yet.
The MD-100 is definately the weakest link..... I have matched the MD-160 & MD-150 with the Focal TN-51 or 52 with some mods to the x-over.. and worked quite well.

We were going to be a go for the Esotars, but there's NO room for the tweets
Unless of course we decide ahead that kick pods are going to give Nirvanah, and that'll be a long sell on a "pig in a poke".
Please elaborate on the mods.....what's involved,.... and why not just go all Focal?
That was my second choice to explore.

Equipment we currently have to work with is a RF amp to a 12W3, ported, a 4x60watt Fusion amp for the top end (would active be a worthwhile avenue?), and he wants to upgrade to a Nav system....currently looking at a Pioneer 7600, and an 80 Nav combo.
He can buy these on-line for nearly the price of two of em Canadian...
Warranties be damned.....He can throw it out and buy another one if it breaks......What's up with that PioneerGuy??? Who's selling these below my cost?
