So in the $400CAN what is the best 6.5" speaker set available.

I've read that the eDi 6500s and CDT HD are comparable, anyone car to tell me there experiances with them?

Also If anyone cares to mention something else at this price point, feel free to chime in.

Kev.

Im guessing the eDs are coming from eD and the HDs could come from various spots new dealer at http://www.alteraudiousa.com

And the ED comps are just rebadged CDTs.. I would say CDT, I havent heard any eDs but I imagine they are similar.

ed's from ed or cdt's from Don Smith from off of sounddomain (djdilliodon).

I havnt seen to much for comps around here, but if anyone knows of any i would check them out for sure.

I need speakers that can get loud with solid midbass, and from what i've read these two sets do a great job of this.

No offence dude, but how many dealers do you think are going to offer you advice only to have you take that advice and give your money to some dude in the US. There are tons of good speakers around and lots of great dealers that need your business. We are the people that answer your questions that arise and have a good idea of who is supporting us in our businesses and who is not. If you are interested in good speakers, with a authorized CDN warranty, look to the CDN specialty retailers.

nooo, djdilliodon is a very good source.. very trusted too. I was going to buy CDTs from him but picked some used ones up from someone else.

Here are some feedback from ca.com,
http://forums.caraudio.com/vb/search...earchid=823394
The guy "Nikuk" is the fellow I bought my cdts off of. Again I would strongly recommend the CDTS rather than some rebadged ones from eD.

I know the eD models lack midbass, and I know for sure the lower end CDTS do too. (CL series) I would search around to get any info on the HD regarding midbass. actually I will look aswell...

But again its all american run, so like MR2NR said, there are probably choices if your worried about an economy thing.

Canton RS 2.16 or Canton QS 2.16 are both great. But the RS has better bass. It's really hard to find a 6" component with incredible midbass. That's why you should use an 8" midbass driver. I have the Cantons and I'm very happy.

Luckeyman:
I own a set of Canton RS 3.22, thats the 3way with the 8,5,tweet. I love the way they sound, but i'm not willing to hack up my new car to put 8's in the doors. I loved the way these sounded, even in my old buick that ate midbass for dinner it seemed. But thank you for the suggestion.

M2RNR:
I know what your saying, and I have looked around victoria a few times, and PG also, but nothing seemed to catch my eye and scream good idea. Now I did leave the table open for suggestions in the $400 range, If you happen to know of retailer x around vic that sells something worth taking a look at in the 400 range, I would probly go take a look. I noticed that island audio was having some sort of sale, I'm probly goin to go take a look at them again.

When it boils down to it I want something that I will enjoy. I'm not going to pay 800 for something that I can get for 400.

Also, does anyone know of a canadian retailer for CDT?

thx,

Kev.
