Processing power is much more important in car audio than the source IMHO.

I can't say I like the MS8 much, but that is another topic.

come to the show and ask for help. You having nothing to lose but a few hours of your time.

sorry if this is off topic, but i've seen it mentioned here.

Kunaal,
What kind of car do you have??? This will help alot in determining what kind of factory head unit you have...I'm sorry, but everytime I have dealt on a digital sound processor, we pull it out and put in a good aftermarket radio, easier to use and better DSP. I always have a happy customer after the work is done.

Your statement of "easier to use and better DSP" is ridiculous. Sorry. No offense, but just because you don't know how to make something work doesn't make it junk.

There's a boat load of examples where these processors connected to a factory head unit has produced outstanding results as well as leaving the consumer with the ease and simplicity of use the factory head unit.............. never mind the visual aspect of everything remaining factory looking.

I'm going to hazard a guess that your frustrating experience has something to do with the install AND the fact that your installation crew has never used an MS8 before.

Obviously the person who first posted this "Kunaal", has come to the conclusion that none of us know what we are talking about, because we are still not sure what kind of OEM head unit we are working with. So until this is answered we still do not know if the MS8 is the best solution for his problem.
Tom, sorry, but I have been around stereos alot longer than some people on here have been alive. I am still caught up in the days of EQ's when I could tell you by ear what sounds made 500hz, and what sounds made 10,000hz, I did not need fancy machines. DSP replaced eq's because travelling down the road adjusting your eq was about as safe as driving while texting...So I understand the logic, it doesn't mean these new processors sound better, It all starts with a good head unit and works forward from there, this is car audio 101.

All I'm saying is that you can achieve VERY GOOD results with an add-on processor to a factory deck. You just have to understand what you're up against as far as what's coming out of the factory head unit signal wise. It is possible. To lead people down the garden path and state that a factory deck is a crappy source is mis-information. It's not ideal but it's not crap as you state.

And Bill, you're saying that YOU can't get results with an add on digital and your experience is that YOU have gotten better results pulling the factory head unit and replacing it. That is fine. Everyone has their own pathes to success. But as you state, some cars do not have the option (without considerable expense) to remove the factory head unit or relocate it. With a little homework, you can do it buddy. Trust me. It won't be audiophile but it will be good stuff.

Bill, I'm old enough to be your dad.

I'll show you mine, if you show me yours (age that is)

Tom,
So you and I both agree that the factory HUs in most cars are not as good as aftermarket, and a $699.00 retail on an "add on" DSP can get you alot of gear in the dash kit, wiring harness, and HU. and we still don't know what kind of car or truck we're dealing with here?

Being that you and I are old guys, you know what I am talking about with the whole eq thing....ahhhhh the memories.....
