It becomes a commercial vehicle when insured for commercial operation or from what I understand the GVRW is above a determined limit (thus the vehicle is made for commercial operation only) as covered by the BC MVA. Under that limit you have a personal vehicle that may be insured for business of personal use.

My F350 is personal use with "X" number of days, thus I am not classed as a Commercial vehicle.
