so i blew up one of my diamond m661's a while back and didnt really have money till now for some new ones so i bought diamond hex's 5.25 with the silk tweeter just ordered them today so havent had a chance to hear them yet i plan on soon getting the hex 6.5 midbass add on and then getting some qlogic kick panels for the 5.25's and put the midbass into the stock door locations does anyone know if there is any difference in sound between the silks and the metal dome tweeters? and what about the qlogic kick panels do you think they're worth the money? they are going in a 2002 accord coupe running off a pdx150.4

 

most people agree the main difference between metal and silk tweets is brightness, though that's not necessarily true. I have titaniums now, but I've had silks and i like them both. The Q-logic kicks are ok, depending on the car and the particular components...not as good as custom made ones that are positioned exactly as the installer wants, but I've heard a few that sounded very good.

 

The Q logic kicks arent to bad as long as you reinforce/deaden then crap out of them.

 

there really isnt any installers around here and i dont know if i would be able to build any half deicent ones myself what do you suggest i deaden them with? like just line them with some dynamat and put polyfill in them?

 

Q-logic kicks are GREAT for the price (and yeah put some damping mat on them) custom fit and colors to match your vehicle what more can you ask for??? to move up you must spend more. You may want to play with the kicks before you cut them though. Will the midbass drivers image better there or in the door, is the tweeter best suited for the kick panel or should it go elsewhere

 

yeah well right now i have my tweeters in the a pillars i didnt like the stock location so ill have to see if im like them down lower or not and patch up my pillars lol im hoping the kick panels are better location than the doors since my doors are for 6.5's i got the 5.25s so i could make a 3 way in the next couple months
