So I finally bought a new deck.

I picked up a Clarion 575usb yesterday and installed it. What a great sounding deck, my god its nice. I'm hearing things I never noticed in songs before. Anyways, I was wondering. MY last deck I could crank it all the way up (almost until it wasn't bearable anymore), but it didn't distort. Today I tuned my amp, I set the deck at 20 volume setting and turned up the dials on the amp till it distorted and then turned them back down like I originally did with my old pioneer deck. The thing that I dont get is that once I go past 22, it distorts. Its loud as hell but it distorts. I know this new deck has 6v preouts, and my old one only had something like 2.2...anyways. How can I resolve this?

Properly set the gain on your amp? If you set it properly at volumn 20, why would you expect it not to distort at higher then 20?

Try resetting the gain again, my brother has the same amp and I have it set so his max volumn is 28 and it sounds just fine on a old crossfire amp and a pair of rockford p2's.

I have the 775usb and what I did was turned the deck to volume 28 and tuned the amp to that. Sounds awesome, loud and clear.
