frequency response on HUs
What a manufacturer short changing his specifications... unacceptable I mean exaggerating NEVER happens in car audio since everyone uses the same formal certification standards. We need to demand change now... hmmm who could we elect for change?
So instead of providing useful information, you choose to spend your time critisizing?. That helps the OP a whole lot doesn't it?.
Please enlighten us all with your brilliance and post the technically correct uber answer that you seem to have at the tip of your tongue, but just can't seem to post it.

im trying to help you help yourself.....every freq has an upper and lower harmonic, its these harmonics that are important to sound.....thats why extended frequency response is important and should be described as i think you called it "fluff"
SHould be and is in high end amplifiers. Some less reputable companies have whacked out frequency response listings with no tolerence specified (ie no +/- X dB) Most cheapo 600watt 6x9's have ratings to 50Khz thanks to the 1/4" Super tweeters...Those such ratings are fluff.
The standard accepted ratings worldwide is 20-20Khz +/-3db... higher end companies will have ratings that exceed that in a positive way. Cheapo companies will have rediculous "fluff" ratings with no tolerances posted, just freq response.
So Unless the customer is specifically buying high end equipment. Seing whacked out ratings that differ from the standard 20-20Khz +/-3dB is a sign of a retarded marketting company and a low quality part.
And again..you just defer to "harmonics" with ZERO explanation...some 3 year olds know all the right "buzz words" but don't understand what they mean either.
