6x9 and SQ = Oxymoron

I have Infinity Kappa 692.3i . Great detail but are a touch bright.

get some adapter plates and throw in some 5 1/4's maybe even 6 1/2's (not sure if you can get plates for those)

make your own plates out of 1/4" MDF. It doesn't take very long and you can make them for a 6.5". That's what I did in my prelude and in my Dodge truck. It will cost you a $5 chuck of mdf and an hour of your time.

Yea don't use 6x9's....they suck. USe a comp set in a plate setup....5.25's and a tweet in a plate don't sound half bad at all, especially if you have a tight budget. or 6.5's or whatever.

They just do....he's after some good sound for cheap...Why skimp out on 6x9's when you can have better sound for the same price.

I know of quite a few really nice comp sets that can be had for under 200 bucks. Take Audiobahn for example, they make a comp set that you can take home for around 130 bucks plus tax comes with crossovers AND mounting hardeware...I've heard them next to Kicker 6x9's and the Bahns sound WAY better for a lot less than the Kickers

A 6X9 is incapable of producing the same sound as a quality set of components due to the shape, the oval shap doesn't give you the concentric circles of a round speaker, which changes the way the sound is produced. Do a nice component set with adaptor plates, then it'll be done right, and you'll be the happiest man alive
