Is this a good speaker set for front speakers in an SQ competition focussed install?

^ No prob dog, I am down with that yo
I like all of the ID products, lemonlime had a couple threads on it a year or so ago. The old school horns are good if you like horns (I do), and have the room for them AND can EQ the edges out of them. The ID regular dome and cone is very good (and is easier to make sound good) too. As a sidebar I think Team ID really stands behind their guys in IASCA, it is quite impressive.
But I will NOT tell you what to buy, you need to listen for yourself (go to local shops (drive 300 km to hear stuff if your serious) and try to buy from the dealer) remember to save some $$ for the install even if you do it yourself (building to USACi, IASCA standards is not cheap, building to MECA SQ standards is much cheaper).

Cranky Yankee, I too have had very good experiences with passives, just not in a car. The formentioned tuning control being an issue.
Passives pull a large # of electronic devices and connections out of the signal path, both of which I've found to degrade signal quality.(Not a surprise to many I'm sure)
Silver GS, I actually recomend PMing some of the posters on this and your other thread on equipment. Some people will reply in much greater depth if their comments are kept in private.

Best thing to do is add Brax to John Vrooms' excellent list of brands to try out, and do your best to listen to them all. Go to some upcoming shows, and ask some ppl on the board. Many will be more than willing to audition.
