This is mostly true, unless the music you plan to play is lossless quality. I have countless Bocelli, Pavarotti, and Brightman songs and they are all lossless. This way, if I want to listen to them on a high quality system, I can fully enjoy the sound.

Mind you, if you have a small iPod then lossless isn't worth it. One file can be upwards of 25MB, and thats only 3 minutes long.

iTunes can even rip a CD and encode the files in lossless. Take a look at it here

It is still encoding files and that's loosing quality (no matter what the add say I always question it)... pick up an original cd of your favorite artist (lets say Britney Spears!) and get home make a copy (to an audio cd as well- shouldn't loose quality should it?) And listen to it on good quality system- my home audio works fine for that.... You WILL hear the difference( not big off course lol but there is a difference)... Unfortunately I dont have enough money to buy every single cd (actually I only own one lol- Queen)...

P.s. I once found some file that was a ripped cd of Queen on the net- it had 3.something Gb(60min play time and had only one track- many songs but not separated), and that played using winamp gave awesome quality, I dont remember the extension since i delete it but i think it was an image file that i had to mount...

Time allignment? Yes. DRX, the previous model - does not. If my memory serves me right, DRX has very little features, and the newer DRZ has tons, but both have that huge extra box. I think Brandon touched on this a while back and he had a DRX and may have sold it.

Agreed a 100%. But I'm willing to change my biases. Where can I go to be convinced that Clarion and Eclipse are serious contenders in the car audio market?
Any reviews out there repping them?

I took the line on 14 years ago, blind. I took the line on based on my rep's word. That rep was my Alpine rep in 1988 and had never steered me wrong before, I had no reason to doubt him. Today, Eclipse is my main headunit line of all that I carry. For the record, that would include, Eclipse, Pioneer, Pioneer Premiere, Kenwood, Kenwood Excelon, Blaupunkt, Soundstream.

Soundstream has the same line of deck as all the other noname brand cary ssuch as pyle, boss and the likes hehehe.

Eclipse has been a contender for the longest time. If you havent heard of them being top notch, you most likely new to the hobby.
