It's really funny how people read only what they want to read. With a limited mounting depth as you posted and then backed up with the 165K2P driver being too deep, there are how many other drivers posted that have a big a$$ end on them as well.

Morel Dotech MKII 6" - 2 1/3" mounting depth.
http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mob_2way_dotech.html
Morel Hybrid Ovation 6" - 2.37" mounting depth.
http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mob_2way_hybrid.html
Morel Supremo 6" - 2.4" mounting depth.
http://www.morelhifi.com/products/mob_2way_supremo.html

<EDIT> The MB Quart QSC216 6" components have a mounting depth of 2.75". I just found a pair on hold for a guy who has not returned in 2 weeks for them.

Pulled it right out of the box, plunked it down on the counter and measured it, so yup I'm pretty darn sure about it.

There have been many great suggestions mentioned in this thread, but I think you'll get a lot more out of the experience if YOU do the research, and searching to find the driver(s) that meet your criteria, rather than having forum members tell you what they think you should get...

This IS research. It is not the only research and not the defining answer to what I will choose in the end but it IS research.

For instance, let's take AVI as there's a thread going on in the General section right now. I don't have access to AVI driver's right now and haven't had enough listening time with the comps but if I hear enough good things about them I could very likely try a pair out and see if they are for me (and sell them if they ain't). But of course if I never ask.......

I do however appreciate your response.

Seas Lotus is a fantastic set indeed. Of course the 2.99" mounting depth of the RW165 is way too deep (it's 1mm shallower than the K2P) for my system but thanks for making the recommendation without reading the post anyways.

Regarding AVI, if you dont have a dealer near you, they can email you a pricing list and ship them directly to you. At least they would do that a few years ago.
