I have an S harshness problem to..I've had it with every speaker I have ever owned (to varying degree)..my curent set is silk dome and the S's are still pretty bad depending on the song. What helped a lot was to reinfore the enclosure where my mids are. I use to have a EPX2 with 28band eq and I could'nt tune it out.
I think that whatever it is, is caused mostely because of the enclosure the mid is in.
In my case, changing speakers does nothing. And I have some pretty good gear to. So you might want to rethink the enclosure of your speakers before bying all new stuff.
And I serioulsy doubt its your RCA wires.
This weekend I will finish reinforcing my kicks and sealing them off... hopefully the S's will be smooth after that.
