And I was thinking something more of a reverse pentagonal pyramid (proud if the mounting flange like a dome driver) with diffuser rings, a phase diffuser and stuff. Maybe make it a coincident coaxial - those seem to have lost their flavour

Had a good discussion today with a speaker manufacturer... They are working on a Kevlar / PMI sandwich cone for a subwoofer, but having problems getting the two to adhere to each other. If the second attempt fails, they are going to go back and use a nice paper cone. I love that!
