Hey,
The macroms in the doors were trully a pain in the rear to do because i made it so i cna return the car completely to stock without the doors having any visible modification! I was able to do it because they are shallow mountand the magnet just barely misses the speaker cut-out.

Once i have pictures, i will post. i had these same speakers in my old Z and i loved them!! with the mcintosh amp, they shined!!cold almost use them as a midrange (say by combining them with a dynaudio md130 tweet since it plays really low).

i highly recommend playing with morels, as they are simply amazing speakers for the price!

I think i might be putting some tweets in the A pillars rather than the kicks... helps out the stage height and since i was told above 6.3 khz tweets have no imaging characteristics, i can have the mid do all the work (almost achieving a single point source). the revelators will go up to 7000hz so they are up for the job.

any opinions on this?

Boston Accoustics Neo5T is the most realistic and warm tweeter I have ever heard. It comes with the Pro series components and the new Z6 components.

Hummm.... the Bostons never hit it home with me... even if i go them, i wouldn't keep them for long..

Dukk,
the cantons were purchased after i heard one of te three best sounding cars i've ever been in: one was a lotus, the other a neon the last a civic.
the lotus and the Neon had the cantons in them. the lotus was what i would rate tonnally perfect...mind bogling what it sounded like.
the neon had the best imaging i've ever heard. enter stage about 6 feet beyond the winsdhield, about 10 inches aboe the dash and if i well recall, wider than the side mirrors. furhter, this guy could adjust the center image dependant on where i was positioned (chair up front, or laid well back...hunched over standing straight...) it was freaking amazing! however, not as tonally balanced as the lotus. i'm trying to get the best of both worlds... got my Scan-speaks...may play around and see if the tweets are up for it.
i guess i should really try it out... jus thinking about what i heard makes me want to do it!!
i just might use the tweet...

more suggestions still wouldn't hurt...

Marco, tell me more about these cars you listened to. Where at? Local? Well-known owners? Kick panels? Do tell!

The Lotus was at least 6 years ago. i remember that i'd never heard of them before... it was a 'European Brand' trying to make it into the north american market.

on a side note, i also heard a Lotus that belonged to Macrom or Morel and it was also amazing...this lotus had a single subwoofer (wich i thought was silly since the norm was pairs) but boy did it sound amazing!!

this was at an iasca competition in toronto.

the neon was local. belonged to a sean or shawn that worked for peel auto radio... i've tried to track him down but to no avail. i know he was an iasca judge, his system had an EPX2 and OEQ. had 6" midbass (fosgate), 4" mid range in kicks, and the tweets also in kicks. i actually went into the shop looking for a set of 3 way MBquarts and was so impressed with what i heard that i got a set of the cantons and have liked them since.

i didn' say much of the Civic but it had Image Dynamics cd2 horns with 6" mids run with PG ZPA amps... wow, very loud and great staging as well.
$30k price tag on that system
