I found the easiest way for me to build kicks was to build a baffle, then, mount the speaker in the baffle. Then using long drywall screws I'd mount the baffle to 4,evenly spaced, 2-3" long,2x2" peices of wood. After that is done, using steel brackets and short drywall screws mount the template in the kick panel location.

To image the speakers you simply remove the screws holding the speaker down and add metal washers as needed untill you find the sweetspot for each speaker.

Then build your kick panel around the template and what I do when I build kicks is use material and stretch it over the template. Soak the material in fiberglass resin. Let it harden, carefully remove the template...then a layer of fiberglass mat, the sound deaden, fiberglass mat and sound deaden one more time.

I'm not sure if that's confusing or not but it works damn good for me. Maybe someday I'll take pictures of every step I take when building them and post them....it's fairly easy and the end result is awesome.

Hi
I kinda have a similar problem, I have a 6.5" scan speak, 5" tweet scan speak and I would like to make a kick panel for it. But I'm kinda new in car audio and I don't know anything about making kick panels. I was wondering if anyone in Toronto (preferrably) is willing to help me to make the kick panel.
thanks in advance.
