If they are these ones they definately just need some more space.

They want 1cu' each. With 380watts they really pound a Cavalier from the trunk.

i have owned a type X in the past and used it for a year and a half.
The subs are great subs, sound amazing in a small sealed enclosure (i find them too sloppy in a ported box, despite how well it is made).

one thing i can say though, you will not be happy with that amp on that sub.
under 657rms will not cut it, you need the full 1000rms they are rated for to really make use of it, they aren't extremely efficient subs, so beef up your amp first.

with that in mind, 657 is still plenty to work with, why not check out some w6's instead of a w7 (same thing with the w7, you need the full 1000).

check out some arc audio subs, very efficient, sound great, and fairly affordable.

maybe an IDQ?

Thanks Lincoln74, I'll probably need that good luck that you are offering!

Hey Nick, here is the subs that I am running Kenwood KFC-W2510 10" 4-ohm subwoofer at Crutchfield.com
I really don't think they can make good use the power available plus they are over 3 years old and I think I have a buyer for them. Factor in the space that I will have available and I think my only option is a single sub. Brad from Smartass is shipping me a 12" RD Sonance V2 Monday so I will see what I can do with that. I just emailed tech support on the RD web site asking for some box design specs based on the space I have available. I'm not sure if they offer that support but I guess I will find out!

jstoner22, thanks for your experience with the type X, I'm glad now I passed on that option. If the 657w isn't enough for the RD then I guess I will have to deal with that but I will be suprised if it doesn't give me what I am looking for. I'm not competing, I just want a strong daily driver.

I appreciate all of the help, I understand this stuff in principle but I am still pretty green on the street smarts side of it.
