Upgrading Subs & Setting the Amp

just got my sound system put in, with my old subs and amp, cost me about $800, because i had to buy a $250 dash kit, new deck, and 2 new speakers along with installation.

now my subs are kinda , they are 2 12" mtxs in a ported box, and im using a big m a audio amp, everything works but the subs kind of sound like , i dont think they're blown, or maybe the settings on the deck and the amp arnt correct, but what im in need of is some help on the amp and deck settings, thers a switch thats set to full, or it can be set to lpf or some other one, i know how to turn up the gain, but im not sure of what to set the other 2 ***** to. my subs are wired on both sides of the box, i guess they call that 2 channel? along with a 2 channel amp? so if i want to upgrade, will any subs work with my amp, and what do i look for when upgrading, because i want louder, i think mine now are maybe 600 watts each, they are dual coil.

any help is greatly appreciated, i understand more from others words then reading pages on the internet, thanks

lpf is low pass filter, and the best setting for subs.

p.s that sub is serious, unless you upgrade your amp and batteries, yes batteries that mammoth would be severely underpowered.
