My contention is that most people have heard bad mp3 and lossy tracks and have therefore assumed that lossy rips are bad sounding compared to the original. I think these samplers paint a different picture, and I contend that good first generation lossy rips at reasonable bit/sampling rates make the tracks audibly as good as the original or at least very hard to tell the difference. Try them...i can make more if you guys want some more samples.

There will be a difference depending on the speakers I think. On my Klipsche 2.1 speakers for my computer EVERYTHING sounds good.

Then I played the track in my car with my Morel speakers which will really let you know if something isn't of quality.

Which sample are you referring to? If it's the 32 kbps, you're supposed to notice that one. If it's the 96kbps, that's good, but now i'll have to do another without the switch times provided and you can try it (just to make sure it's not psycho acoustic effect.)

well, did you hear a difference? and which sample? if it's the 32 kbps sample, you're supposed to hear a difference very clearly and easily, if it's the 96kbps, not as easily...though it should be possible for some (I've given the switch times to make the comparison clear, but this may also make it easy for you to hear a difference because you know it's there). I will do another sample without the times listed and you guys can tell where you think it switches.
