Midbass up to 1200hz
Just easing myself back into the audio realm after the better part of a decade away. I'm not going to compete with my setup, so I'm not super about stage height or anything. I'm going to go with a simple two way setup with MHLCD's, which IIRC start getting fairly choppy around 1200hz or so. Looking for a nice 6 or 7 midbass driver that has a half decent response curve from on axis to maybe 30 off. Not sure what processing I'll be going with...maybe P9 P9 if one comes around. I used to have a Sony CDX C910 w/ 4000x, but that was a donkey's age ago. Regardless I'll try to get 1/3 octave EQing ability. Any ideas? What's new and exciting...or should I stick with seas lotus, vifa, scanspeak, or morel or whathaveyou...don't even know if they're still around, I'd assume so.

I always prefer to keep the Midbass bandpass from 50 - 250 or so (ideally at 24 Hi & Lo).
This keeps the vocals high and away from the bottom of the doors, this of course in a 3-way front stage design.
It is always better to keep any xover/phase shifts as far away from 1kHz as you can (since the ear is very sensitive in this region)
But if your HP speakers (horns?) have a HP limit of close to 1k, well then that is the dilemma you have.
Speakers, always with the damn tradeoffs...
One more thing, if the midbass will be in your doors (free-air) then best to look at ones with Qts of .50 - .65,
as this generally sounds better. IMHO.
Good luck on the midbass solution.
