mono amps for stereo bass?

If a person used the ' rear ' output rca's of their HU, split each side (l/r) with a 1-2 splitter.
Then send the 2 lefts to one amp and the 2 rights to another, could then class D mono amps run stereo bass?
So each amp is only getting one sides signal, does this work?
Do ppl do this? Good,bad?

what? it would sound really off. sub bass is ment to run mono. the mono amps takes the stereo sound and makes it mono but if u feed right to one amp and left to the other it will sound off and output wont be as much as full blown mono.

im sure theres an rca in and out on one of the amps. bring both rca into one amp and take another rca from the out of that amp into the other. thats the best way to do it

Thanks for the explanation Dany, but I'm just not getting it.

I don't need to save/add rca cords to hook up multiple amps, which I think is what you're getting at. I have a 6 channel eq. And too many cords if anything..

I want the class D bass efficiency to produce stereo bass, %80 as opposed to 50% or whatever the real stats are for other classes are.

I never see a class d made to play two subs in stereo. Or do I?

Well, I thought if I paired the two lefts to the two mono inputs of a mono amp. It would only be given a mono single, (only the left) and do the right side the same way. Two amps two subs.
Then you get the efficiency bass wise of the class D vs an a/b class?

Is this an over-thinking problem, is a 2 channel d class stereo amp available, does the mono left/right idea work. Ok Am I a fool?

there are class D 6ch 4ch 2ch and mono. and stereo bass should not be used cause they will act kinda out of phase and work against each other. i did try this on my first system. 2 600watt sony 2ch 1 on each 10" audiopipe lmao. sounded like and had cancelation galore.

got a pic of the amps u want to use??? or give some info on witch amp? some info will help me figure something out for u and maybe draw u something

Why would you need stereo bass?

Yeah that'd be cool, thanks, USA AMPS xt 2000d ... I have 2 already, right now I can get another for a reasonable amount. I'm considering the offer.
Tossing this stereo idea around so i could use the same amp(looks wise) for a different purpose. Running some overpowered on 1ohm subs a little better ..(re srx12d4 at 2 ohm on the xt, instead of 1 ohm. And the last running mono on another sub I have. This is a 'for now thing'

please don't ask, a long story, and an ongoing ' newb' build.

So what sub/amp setup do you feel provides the best 'double bass' hard rock/metal sound?

Not a fool, but you are definitely thinking too much.....

Bass is heard in mono, no matter what you do to it.....your ability to differentiate left from right disappears at very low frequencies. All you are going to do is add more amp channels, subs and volume.

HTH

I was running 4 Mach 5 MAW-15's in a station wagon and they kept up with the double bass just fine.

How well you build your box determines whether your subs sound as tight as a virgin cooch, or as loose as throwing a hot dog into space.
