MORE New toys.

I think I've only mentioned it to Sassmaster, and maybe let it slip somewhere else, but I FINNALLY got my Focal Utopia 165W set.
All installed and firing into the glass of my van, they still sound 100,000 times better than what WAS in there.
Tonnally, insane....I have width beyond my a-pillars now and obviuosly the height is pretty extreme....sounds a little shrill, because of the tweeter location, but once I do the Cavalier install, it will be MUCH better.
And, you can all look forward to a nice long install post like Defro's Neon, because I've decided to also do a dash install.
Anyways, just thought I'd post my happy news and maybe I'll try to con Sass or Rockney to post some pics of the utopia's for me.

lol, I couldn't pass up the deal.....I won't say a word about what I payed because veryone would cry.
And, I've loved the Utopia's since I first time I heard them...so it was a no-brainer for me.
Can't wait to start the Cavalier install and get some half decent, matching amps.

no actually, it's just a coupe...94 with the 2.2
I'm gonna go with either Kicker or Xtant amps for now I think, and eventually upgrade to Audison.
Also thinking of using a nice 8" midbass like an IDQ8 or something similar and building the dash to house the midbass, midrange AND tweet.
Eventually, a supercharged 3.8 will find it's way under the hood. But I'm gonna try to keep the car as sleeper as possible, so as for body mods, I MAY do shaved door handles and I'll definatly do a set of 18's on some sticky rubber....other than that, no body mods.
I'm also gonna go with a burgundy and brushed aluminum theme throughout the interior and continue on the exterior with burgundy paint, and black 18" rims with a chrome lip....something similar to a Berretta GTZ rim.

Kicker and Xtant are great amps. Audison VRX will be another step above.
Housing the speakers up in the dash is an excellent idea. If you go with two 8" midbasses, then they can also serve as subwoofers. Image Dynamics produce incredibly good sounding drivers.
You must be a millionare with all the stereo equipment and engine and body mods that you want to do.

What did you do in the dash of your van? You mean to say you simply dropped them into the dash of your van and now have an incredible soundstage that extends beyond the width of your vehicle? Wow, that there must be the uber-speaker we've all been waiting for!
