Question Need to know where/how to get high quality digital mp3/CD's

Don't care if CD off the shelf at store, or download of mp3s, but am wanting to hear some really high sound quality music or sound test tracks on my system.

Am just tiring of mp3s I obtain, and they sound like crap. I want to compile a CD of really high quality stuff, recorded at a digital level where there's no noise etc...

Any ideas where I can find what I'm looking for?

Tim

To be honest, there isn't any particular music I like, in a sense that there's a single song here and there that I do, CDs I have (such as Pink Floyd) are great.

Just looking for something like THX intros that are not "broken", having lossed quality through being passed along or not digitally done right.

Just something (wish I knew what exactly) that I can pop in and say WOW! that sounds amazing!

I would highly suggest you try XRCD's.

Extended Resolution Compact Disc - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
XRCD by JVC

Granted they don't have the broadest selection of music, but whatever it is you end up finding, you'll definitely notice the difference in quality. They are more expensive than your average CD but personally I feel that it can easily rival the quality of SACD's without needing to get special equipment for playback.

Much appreciated, thanks! It's hard to hear/test how my system is truely sounding, with mp3s that have hiccups in them etc... Just needed some sound files that have the best recorded and playback quality. So far, so good, sounds great.
